Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is available for pre-order now, with an expected release date in November.

At a preview event held at the Grand Canyon, content creators from across the community got their hands on Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 for the first time! Here's what you need to know about the new sim:

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024's release date is November 19, 2024. Xbox Store preorders are open now and Steam preorders start on September 26. Preordering gets you the CL-415 to fly in Flight Simulator 2020.
  • Using cloud streaming architecture, the size of the installation has been reduced to around 30GB.
  • There are 45 new aircraft included: 30 in the Standard Edition, 5 in Premium, and 10 in Premium Deluxe. This is in addition to the aircraft available in MSFS 2020, bringing the total to 95 aircraft with the Premium Deluxe edition.
  • Backwards compatibility is expected for most add-ons.
  • Alongside features like the new 'career mode', MSFS 2024 retains unstructured, free flight functionality for serious flight simmers, just like in the 2020 edition.

FSA Member Poll

Would you use an AI ATC product (like Say Intentions.AI or BeyondATC) if they were available for macOS? Submitted by Richard S.

Currently, AI ATC software works on X-Plane, but only in Windows. Would availability for X-Plane's Mac version make a difference to you?
